You’re being encouraged to give your kids’ books this Christmas.

The Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge District Health Unit says reading is the best way to unplugged from electronic devices. They say it also helps children with their talking and language skills. Our local health unit says it’s a good idea to wrap a book, and put it on your children’s beds so it’s the first thing they see when they wake up. It can become a tradition, and kids will look forward to it.

If you’re picking a book for your older kid, pick something with an exciting plot to make them want to read it.
