First time home-buyers in Haliburton could be getting a tax break. As of January 1st, the province doubled the maximum Land Transfer Tax refund to four-thousand dollars for eligible buyers. Ontario is also helping renters in Haliburton County by freezing the municipal property tax on apartment buildings.
