A Richmond Hill man is paying $3,500 for an illegal deer hunt near Haliburton. It happened in November, on Loon Lake Road east of Haliburton. He was driving when he spotted the white-tailed deer, and pulled over.
He then shot the deer from the edge of the road, and trespassed onto private property to retrieve it. The case was heard in a Minden court earlier this month, and he was fined $2,000Â for firing a gun in a right of way for traffic. He was also hit with a $1,5000Â fine for trespassing for hunting, and a one-year hunting suspension.
