A decline in the walleye population in our region has our federal M.P. very concerned.
Haliburton Kawartha Lakes Brock M.P. Jamie Schmale was a[approached two years ago by worried anglers and is asking the Ministry of Natural Resources to do something.
Schamle says the annual Canada-USA Walleye Tournament in Bobcaygeon is feeling the effect of the walleye decline.
Schmale says he has some solutions in mind.
Schmale is hoping the Ministry of Natural Resources to take action but says they are dragging their feet.
He feels the excuse that too many anglers are fishing for walleye is not valid.
Schmale says if his online petition gets enough signatures, he will present it to the Minister of Natural Resources.
