Carolyn Plummer says health care in the county involves more than hospitals.
The Haliburton Highlands Health Services President and C.E.O. says services like its long term care centre and clinics are not covered by provincial funding.
Plummer says H.H.H.S. was recently selected as one of five rural health hubs in Ontario.
She adds health care in rural communities involves much more than emergency room services.
