With classes starting next Tuesday, the O.P.P. reminds motorists of school bus safety

Students return to school next week and the O.P.P. wants to remind you of school bus safety.

The Haliburton Highlands detachment wants to remind drivers if you don’t stop when a bus has its overhead red-signal lights flashing, you could be fined up to $400.

You can also get six demerit points for a first offense according to the Highway Traffic Act.

The O.P.P. also suggests keeping an even closer eye on the road with increased pedestrian and cyclist traffic, especially in school zones.
