Minden Hills will have to cover the entire bill for a water main break.
When staff was checking the road on May 9th, they found that one of the isolation valves was not working.
The cost to repair the water main on Water Street is just over $24,000.
The township was hoping the work would be covered under the Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program.

However, council was told by staff that since there was no definitive proof that the flood in May caused the malfunction, it does not fall under O.D.R.A.P.
Unless there is a departmental surplus, the repairs will have to be financed by the water reserve.
