The S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena and Community Centre will be undergoing major renovations.
Minden Hills will be spending up to $6.5 million to upgrade the centre, including a new ice plant system, new dressing rooms and gym.
Council wanted to do more than the bare minimum and felt replacing the building entirely would be too expensive.
Reeve Brent Devolin says a large scale renovation of the centre is the best option.

Devolin adds doing nothing is not an option.
The next step for the township will be to get engineering and architectural reports.
