One man is dead and another is in custody following a house fire in Fenelon Falls. The blaze broke out on Saturday at about 9:30 at night at a home on Oak Street. The Kawartha Lakes OPP, EMS and Fire and Rescue Service all responded to the call, as the house was fully engulfed in flames. Once it was extinguished, the man’s body was found inside.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to help.
The OPP says a man was taken into custody late Saturday in connection to the investigation, however no other details are being released yet. The OPP does note that it doesn’t think there is any risk to public safety.
