Environment Canada is expecting to have a training session in the county in the spring.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson was in the Village of Haliburton last week talking about climate change, and a volunteer program called Can Warn.
Can Warn trains anyone interested in being a volunteer weather spotter so it can keep Environment Canada up to date on what’s happening in the county’s skies.
Coulson says he hopes to bring a training session to somewhere in the county by late April or early May.
Coulson says the training events usually has around 20 people attending but adds he expects more than that because the weather service has never held a session in Haliburton before.
