If elected officials in Dysart et al will be getting a pay increase, it won’t be this term.
According to a draft bylaw shown to council on Monday, the raise could come into effect on December 1st.
Each of the five councillors would see an increase of around $3,877, the Mayor would get a raise of $500, while the Deputy Mayor would see a bump of around $4,078.
The raise would but Dysart’s politicians on par with other municipal councillors in the county in earning in the $18,000 range.
The only exception is Highlands East.
Their councillors make in the $16,000 range.
The draft bylaw will be on the table for a vote at the next Dysart council meeting in February.
