Haliburton Highlands Health Services will soon be upgrading its nurse call-bell system.
H.H.H.S. President and C.E.O. Carolyn Plummer says the work is expected to begin within a week.
Plummer adds the upgrades are necessary at the hospitals in Haliburton and Minden Hills because the old system is out-of-date.
She mentions the new call-bells will have two way communication so nurses can speak with the patients before going to see them.

The replacement was made possible by a $293,500 grant from the province’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care so there is no cost to H.H.H.S. for this.
Plummer says the upgrades should be complete by the end of March.
