Algonquin Highlands residents will be spending more money on taxes this year.
Council had its final budget review this morning and homeowners will be seeing an increase of $3.40 per $100,000 of assessed value.
The 2018 levy is just under $5 million and according to the treasurer’s report, over 50 per cent of that is due to a rise in O.P.P. costs.
There was an increase in the final draft over the second one of $8,700 to cover the minimum wage increase.
Council will pass a bylaw later this month to make the budget official.
