Oxtongue Lake Community Centre kicks off Summer Lecture Series

The Oxtongue Lake Community Centre is taking on another project for the summer. Recreation Programming Supervisor Melissa Alfano says it’s the big event at the centre this summer.

Alfano says the first lecture was a success with around 30 people in attendance. Admission is by donation and refreshments are available.

Here is a list of the rest of the speakers for the Summer Lecture Series:

Rick Stronks – Wednesday July 23 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Chief Park Naturalist in Algonquin Park, Rick Stronks will be speaking about living and camping in black bear territory.

Craig Macdonald – Wednesday July 30 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Historian & outdoor recreation specialist from Algonquin Park, Craig Macdonald shares the native heritage of Oxtongue Lake and area.

Ron Tozer – Wednesday August 13 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Retired Algonquin Park naturalist Ron Tozer will keep you on your toes with his fun and informative quiz on nature in Algonquin Park.
