The Fire Chiefs of Haliburton County met today and decided to instituteĀ a complete fire ban for the county effective immediately.
With the very dry weather, high heat and a lack of forecasted precipitationĀ expected in the near future, the chiefs felt that all of Haliburton County is a high risk for wildfires.
This complete fire ban includes all open fires and campfires, and all permits have been cancelled.
