Some Minden streets could see self-driving cars in the future.
The Ontario Good Roads Association has proposedĀ an initiativeĀ to test autonomous vehicles between Ottawa and Windsor, Ontario.
Council approved the proposed route map the autonomousĀ vehicles would use, which Minden staff insisted pass by downtown features like the River Walk, the culturalĀ centre, golf courses and more.
While we won’t see self-driving vehicles anytime soon, Council has approved the projected pathĀ of travel if the autonomous vehicles do come through the township.
The testing of A.V. requires insurance, driver and safety requirements and must go through the appropriate approval process.
