Beaches In Haliburton County Open

The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge announced that the beaches in the county are safe for swimming.

HKPR does weekly testing of the public beaches to track bacteria levels in the water.

The HKPR says all beaches in the County are good for swimming.

Of all the beaches they test, only three came back with high levels of bacteria.

Bond Street Beach and Verulam Recreational Park in Kawartha Lakes, and Port Hope Beach in Northumberland County all have been marked as ‘posted’ which means the water samples tested had a high amount of bacteria that could be harmful to people if it is drunk or absorbed through the skin.
