Low-Cost Rabies Clinic Coming back to Haliburton

Pet owners in Haliburton County can vaccinate their pet for a lower cost.

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Health Unit announced that it’s low-cost rabies clinic will be in Haliburton and Cardiff next week.

The annual clinic is organized by local vets in partnership with the HKPR. The first clinic is happening in Cardiff on Thursday, at the Faraday Animal Clinic from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Haliburton Village has two clinics happening on Saturday, the first is at the Haliburton veterinary Service from 9:00am to noon. The second Haliburton Clinic is at the Bridletown Animal Hospital from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Bruce Barthorpe, a Health Inspector with the health unit, says “Many of us consider a dog or cat to be part of our family, so the Low-Cost Rabies Vaccination Clinics provide an opportunity to give these pets the protection they deserve.”

Barthorpe also says “Rabies is fatal, so getting pets vaccinated is an important part of caring for animals and being a responsible pet owner.”
