With the election over, Dysart et al has a new mayor.
For the first time in nearly 40 years, the municipality of Dysart et al will have a new mayor. The newly elected Andrea Roberts spoke with the My Haliburton Now Newsroom about what the next term looks like in Dysart.
Roberts, who campaigned on the idea of creating more open communication with council and the community, says that the first step is getting all of the councillors up to speed.
Roberts says that they would like to create a strategic plan to see what goals council has for the next four years. Roberts says the plan is to gather the councillors and all openly discuss three to four things that they want to get done.
The former Deputy Mayor says that through the new term she wants to create good clear communication with the public, adding that she heard from seasonal residents that there has been a disconnect between council and the community in the past.
