Minden Hills Council to Go Over Proposal for New Snowmobile Trails

Minden Hills council will be taking a look at allowing snowmobiles using unopened roads later this month.

Minden Hills staff announced that they are hosting a public meeting to go over a handful of proposals. The proposals are looking to make use of some unopened roads for snowmobile trails.

The first unopened road is between Fleming Road and Scotch Line Road. If the proposal is approved, less than a kilometre will be used for the trails. The second trail would be between Scotch Line Road and Plantation Road. It would be just under four kilometres.

The third stretch of unopened road that they are hoping to make use of is between Plantation Lake Road and Twelve Mile Lake Road. The third stretch is expected to cover just over two kilometres. The fourth and final length of the proposed trail is slated to go in between the Hydro Corridor and Kendrick Creek Lane. Like the first length of the trail, this one will be under a kilometre.

The meeting is designed to allow the views and thoughts of those in attendance to be considered in the decision-making process. It starts at 9:00am on Thursday the 22nd in the Minden Hills municipal office.
