Officers Charge Two People with Drinking and Driving

Police have charged two people for drinking and driving in the Lindsay area.

Officers with the Kawartha Lakes O.P.P. are reminding the public, the dangers of drinking and driving after a pair of arrests yesterday. The first arrest came after an officer spotted a sign laying on the road. According to the police report, the officer realized the sign had been hit and they tracked down the car the officer believed responsible. After an investigation, police charged a 33-year-old from Ajax with driving while ability impaired and driving with 80 mgs or more of alcohol in their bloodstream. They are due in court December 6th.

The second arrest happened after an officer stopped a car around 3:20am near Lilac Road near Highway Seven. After an investigation, the officer arrested and charged a 24-year-old from Lindsay with driving with 80 mgs of alcohol in their bloodstream. They are due in court December 13th.
