A Haliburton senior has died after being struck by an SUV Friday night.
Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police confirmed they were called to a collision just after 5:30pm yesterday afternoon.
The southbound sport utility vehicle collided with Carol Lefebvre, age 65, of Haliburton. It happened near the intersection of Victoria Street and Maple Avenue. Lefebvre was taken to an area hospital where she died.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Police closed the intersection until after 11:30pm to allow collision reconstruction officers to take measurements and gather evidence.
The OPP is continuing its investigation into the cause of the collision.
