Structure Fire in Carnarvon Leaves One in Hospital

One person was sent to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire.

Firefighters from Minden Hills and Algonquin Highlands responded to a house fire call around 6:00am today. The house, located on Highway 1188 near Tulip Road was completely destroyed by the fire.

The O.P.P. reported that Highway 118 was closed for several hours while firefighters worked to get the blaze under control. It is being reported that there were at least 20 firefighters on scene dealing with the fire.

The Person injured in the blaze suffered from smoke inhalation. They were transported to an area hospital. There is no update on their status at this time.

The Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.
