Haliburton County Paramedics pass three-year review with high marks

HALIBURTON, ON – A health ministry review of the Haliburton County Paramedics department was a success.

It was a three-year service review that resulted in compliments from the ministry.

Chief Paramedic Tim Waite reported to the county’s EMS advisory committee that he was pleased with the results of the inspection done by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

The review began with an onsite visit last October. The inspection included a review of legislated standards for items from communicable disease protocol, patient care to ambulances and various equipment.

That visit was followed by another in March and a final report in June.

A staff report from Waite showed that the report commended the Haliburton County Paramedic Service for its preparation for the certification inspection; employee qualifications; training and vehicle certification.

As a result of the positive review, the service will not need another inspection for three years.
