Daytime burning regulations now in effect

The daytime burning regulation is now in effect until October 31, all around the county.

Dysart el al Fire Chief Mike Isles wants people to respect the regulations, especially during this difficult time when the fire departments don’t want extra or unnecessary calls.

The Fire Chief says “All the county fire departments are aware of contact, are aware that their firefighters are volunteers, have families at home and daytime jobs. They’re doing as much as they can to limit the exposure when they’re on calls. Typically it’s a medical call that is their biggest concern but certainly it’s still a concern when they’re responding to any call where they’re having personal interaction”.

Chief Isles says fire fighters are unique, always wanting to help, so even during the COVID-19 pandemic, departments are not having a problem with the volunteers responding to calls.

Fines have gone up, and anyone burning during the day can be charged for the response of the fire trucks, at $500 per hour, per vehicle.
