Laurie Scott is “consciously optimistic because health experts have said we reached the peak so we are at the top of the curve that everyone talks about”.
She says we reached it a month early and “bravo to everyone involved for doing social distancing, staying at home, that is what needed to happen to stop the rise in patients and not barrage our medical system with too many patients at once”.
It’s great news but she says we have to be vigilant and we’re “going to have to social distance for a long while yet”. MPP Scott says “it’s very optimistic that Ontario participated and we were able to stop the spread so quickly, hit the peak early, but we’re still going to have to do our part for this spread”.
She know it’s hard and wants people to be patient and kind, and help neighbours and protect our seniors.
MPP Scott gives a big shoutout to our hospital system, with the long term care staff and “how they’ve handled this, and how they’ve worked to protect people”.
She hopes that things will open up in a measured way and encourages the community to “get outside if you can, we’re saving lives”.
