Auditor General’s report reveals another scandal says local MPP

This year’s report by the Auditor General was just released, and everything is not alright according to local MPP Laurie Scott. Scott says the report found that smart meters have cost hydro users two billion dollars but they haven’t reduced use in peak times like they were supposed to. Scott says it’s having an effect on the people in Haliburton County because they have to choose between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table.

Scott explains what this means for the people in our community.

Scott says what it really comes down to is mismanagement. Nobody’s minding the shop, and the Auditor General’s report has proven that, she says.

Scott says people should be outraged because it’s costing the users on their hydro bills. She says people need to make it very real to the provincial government how difficult they’ve made living in Ontario, especially rural Ontario.

She says people shouldn’t hesitate to put pressure on the Premier’s office and the local constituency offices. She says sending in stories and messages of how this is affecting people will hopefully put more pressure on them.

Scott says they’ve asked the Premier what they plan to do but they haven’t received any answers of how things will change.
