The Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) say they have administered the first shot of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to residents of Highland Wood.
HHHS officials say more residents will be getting the shot as the week goes on. They say they will communicate with families once a specific date is known.
The first person to get vaccinated was former ICU nurse Nancy McElwain who is now a resident at the home. “As a resident at Highland Wood Long-Term Care, she continues to watch over the nursing staff daily to ensure they are doing a good job,” officials with the home tell the MyHaliburtonNow.com newsroom.
