Annual Charity Hockey Tournament goes forward despite low registration

A Charity Hockey Tournament is going forward this weekend after organizers originally through it wouldn’t. The Home Builders Association puts on the tournament every year, but this year, Executive Officer Aggie Tose says team registration is down by half. She says one of the reasons they started the tournament was to bring people to the county, so they were working hard to make sure it went forward. It’s happening this weekend with eight teams registered and all the proceeds will go toward food banks in Haliburton County. Anyone is invited to watch the games which start on Friday night at the AJ LaRue Arena.

Two games are on Friday night – 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The rest of the games will happen on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.

The association is asking for donations to local food banks at the door.
