A new app created by Haliburton County is aimed at making it easier to recycle.
The Haliburton County Waste Wizard app is now available in Algonquin Highlands, Dysart et al, Highlands East, and Minden Hills. In it, all of Haliburton County’s landfill sites are listed and what items you can leave at each. The app allows you to enter individual items and will tell you where you can leave it. Project Lead Melissa Murray says it will also notify you of hazardous waste days.
The app also allows you to select which municipality in the county you want to get notifications from, so you don’t get updates on events that aren’t relevant to you.
The app is free to download on the Apple and Android stores.
