A few unexpected costs came out of this year’s budget for Highlands East. They’ve had to raise the budget for legal fees in the building department from ten thousand to one hundred thousand dollars to cover some litigation and legal infractions.
Other expenses that weren’t financed were 50 thousand dollars for the Wilberforce library, and they’re expecting they’ll need another 42 thousand in the 2016 budget to cover the costs.
Residents in Highlands East will see an increase of 2.9 per cent in their taxes when the budget is approved on May 11.
