The HKPR District Health Unit is recognizing this week as Safe Kids Week and they’re promoting the importance of cycling safety.
Family Health Nurse Shelley Shaughnessy says cycling is a great way to spend time with the family and be active, but you should also use caution. She explains that cycling is the leading cause of unintentional injuries that land children under 14 in hospital.
Adults are being encouraged to conduct safe cycling practices to be a good role model for kids.
