The potential for a couple of solar projects was approved yesterday, but only by the save of one vote.

Three councilors were in favour of supporting Soventix Canada’s application to build two solar panels in the area of Boshkung Lake. In the almost hour-long discussion, councilors made sure to ask questions about location, access to lands, and visibility.

At the end of it all, two councilors still wanted more feedback from the public at this point. A rep from the company said that if their application is successful, they will be doing more in depth public consultations.

Three councilors, including Reeve Carol Moffatt voted in favour, so support for the application was passed.
