Despite the provincial government reporting a gain in jobs in May, local MPP Laurie Scott says the unemployment rate is still high. She chalks it up to small businesses that are compromised because of high hydro rates and red tape. Scott explains that giving them support can help fix the problem.
Scott says the youth unemployment rate is high for our area. In a press release, the province says Ontario gained close to 44 thousand jobs in May.
