Deceased identified in Bobcaygeon death linked highway 35 closure

OPP have released details of the death investigation that led to an eight hour road closure.

Police say  43 year old Robert Martin, formerly of Spruce Grove Alberta, was the intruder into a home on Fall’s Bay Road in Bobcaygeon. It was reported that he was armed and after a brief interaction with the homeowner, Martin was dead. Police arrived on scene around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Later that morning, police found a vehicle on Highway 35 just north of Carnarvon associated with the death investigation, so they closed the road.

OPP Constable Lynda Cranney says they’re not releasing any more information as the investigation is ongoing.

OPP still have control of the scene in Bobcaygeon as they continue the investigation.
