News Hal High Students awarded $2,000 in provincial Speak Up grants SHARE ON: Ken Nichol, contributor, Thursday, Dec. 19th, 2013 Hal High has been awarded Speak Up grants from the province. The money is to be used to help students engage both academically and socially by leading projects that they design and implement with support from their school. It gives them a chance to take a leadership role. Even the application process for the cash is a learning experience. Haliburton Highlands Secondary School students were awarded almost $2,000 for an Acceptance Art Symposium and Student Voice program.
