Schmale talks plan for jobs in Haliburton County

Keeping the small business tax rate low is one way to create jobs in Haliburton County. That’s according to Conservative candidate for Haliburton Kawartha Lakes Brock Jamie Schmale. He says local business owners are telling him a payroll tax will kill jobs.

Schmale also says jobs can come out of the Haliburton Community Futures Development Corporation investing in the community.

Schmale says another way to create jobs is through high-speed internet access. He says they’ve already brought high speed internet to some of Haliburton County, but they’re not done yet.

He says better internet will keep people in the area longer, spending more money.

Schmale is running against Liberal candidate David Marquis, Green Party candidate Bill MacCallum, and NDP candidate Mike Perry.

Election day is October 19th.
