Aircraft services company looking to set up shop at Stanhope Airport

An aircraft maintenance company could be moving in to the Stanhope airport. Kovachik Aircraft Services is looking at expanding their Burlington based business. Vice President Chris Kovachik says they can offer full engine and major structural overhauls on any aircraft.

Kovachik says there’s also the opportunity to expand their flight school here considering the trend with foreign students.

Algonquin Highlands Deputy Reeve Liz Danielson says the operation would be a bonus for the airport, and Reeve Carol Moffatt agrees.

Kovachik says the shop would create two jobs – an aircraft maintenance engineer and an apprentice. Councillors all agree it’s a good thing for the airport, and are giving their support.
