Haliburton Highlands OPP and emergency crews responded to the accident Saturday afternoon on Highway 35 near Henderson Road. The man needed to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency crews before being airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries. Police report that while the investigation continues, the highway is closed at that point and traffic is being rerouted through Henderson Road. Officials warn that deer movement increases in the fall and drivers should be extra vigilant, especially at night.
