Someone wants to put a salvage yard on Highway 35 and there are a few people against it.
A public meeting in Minden saw a few residents and business owners speak up, along with the Gull Lake Cottagers Association. The property backs onto a creek that runs into Gull Lake, and they’re worried about waste leaking into the water.
Other concerns include appearance from the highway and the effect on neighbouring properties.
Council is putting the application on hold until environmental studies can be done. They also want to look into the potential affect to property values.
