Local MPP Laurie Scott wants to abolish the death tax in Ontario. Scott says there are already enough taxes, and this one has become too much of a burden for families.
Scott says imposing jail time for not filing within 90 days is too harsh. The Conservatives recently introduced a bill to abolish the tax and replace it with a flat fee of $180.
At the end of the day, Scott says it’s just another tax grab for the government.
Scott says both the Liberals and NDP voted against abolishing the tax.
