A Haliburton County charity has a nearly extra $5,000 to work with.
The Volunteer Dental Outreach program received the funds from the Tim Horton’s annual Smile Cookie campaign.
The cookies were sold for a week in September with a dollar each with all proceeds going towards the V.D.O.
The V.D.O. offers free urgent dental care to low-income residents living in the county.

The program was launched in May of 2011 and has provided approximately $2.2 million in dental care to patients in need.
The money raised from the coffee shops in Minden Hills and Haliburton will go towards the V.D.O’s operating costs.
