Fire officials are reminding you to check your chimney, woodstove, and pipes for creosote.
Because the temperature has been flip-flopping between mild and cold recently, Fire Prevention Officer Matt Musclow ays this is primetime for creosote to build-up.
Musclow says having too much creosote in your wood-burning appliances could put you at risk of a fire or carbon monoxide seeping into your home.
He’s encouraging you to have these appliances checked and cleaned.
