Police investigating Haliburton Village vehicle break-ins

UPDATED July 17: Police say they have recovered property that may be connected to these thefts, and are asking any victims who have not yet come forward to do so.

Haliburton Highlands OPP is investigating a series of late night break-ins in the Village of Haliburton.

Constable Michael Melnychuk says three unlocked cars were stolen from between 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Thursday on Victoria St., Sunnyside St., and Pine Ave..

“Keep all your valuables in your home. Or if they’re inside the vehicle, make sure they’re out of sight and ensure that you lock your vehicle,” advises Melnychuk. “If somebody else was a victim and hasn’t come forward yet, make sure they contact us. Just to report the incident so if we find property we can make sure we get it back to people.”
