An Environment Compliance Approval has been granted for a sewage disposal site in Algonquin Highlands.
Manager of the MOE in Peterborough, David Bradley says they just gave the go ahead to Haliburton Septic Pumping. There is one condition though, and that’s to protect a turtle at risk in the area. According to Bradley, the company had to consult with the MNR as part of the application. Now, they are required to install a fence to protect the turtle before they go ahead with the site.
The hauled sewage disposal site will be on about 2 acres of a 97 acre property on 25th Line Road and Highway 118.
