Newcastle Street not expected to reopen for 3 days

Minden’s roads department isn’t expecting Newcastle Street to be open again for three days.

The road is closed from Milne to St. Germaine Streets.  The closure happened on Sunday night as a result of erosion at the Condo development site.

The company in charge of the project, Greystone Project Management Inc. has crews on scene doing repairs.

Minden’s Township office is still open, however the Haliburton County building, located beside the condo site is closed.

According to CAO Mike Rutter, it’s only a precaution until they get notification from Greystone that the building is stable.
