Lakelands Public Health unveils new name, logo and website

Lakelands Public Health is the new official name of the unified health unit formed by the merger of Peterborough Public Health and the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit.

Officials announced the name change Sept. 11, also unveiling a new logo, website and social media channels.

Vice Chair of the Board, and Highlands East Councillor Cecil Ryall, says Lakelands Public Health will be “the most dynamic and productive health unit in Ontario.”

“The merger is more than just two health units coming together. It is a powerful opportunity to improve and strengthen our public health partnership across the diverse regions that we call home. From the Highlands of Haliburton County, to the vibrant urban centres, and the lakes and farmlands in between. Each of our communities has its own unique strengths, challenges and character.

This new unified identify, we are committed to promise that no matter where you live your health is equally our priority. There is no one more important that everyone.” For more information on the merger, and what the new health unit provides, visit lakelandsph.ca.
