Moose FM hosting annual radiothon in support of local food banks

93.5 Moose FM has once against partnered with the Food Banks of Haliburton County for its annual Christmas radiothon.

We will be on air today (Dec. 12) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. raising funds and awareness for a number of local food banks.

Residents are being asked to make a donation, no matter how small, to area food banks who are helping an expanding list of families in Haliburton County dealing with food insecurity due to rising costs. Local food banks are working tirelessly to meet record high demand, and the need is outpacing the resources available. Local food banks receive no ongoing government funding and rely on the generosity of the community to operate.

Donations can be made by calling 705-457-3897.

Last year’s holiday radiothon raised $49,200. Those funds were split between food banks in Minden, Haliburton, Wilberforce, and Cardiff.
