If you’re planning to make the drive to Huntsville this weekend, you could be greeted by runners. The Ironman race is one of the biggest sporting events in Huntsville’s history and it’s happening on Sunday. Athletes from all over the world will start to make their way to the area tomorrow. As far as road closures, Manager Myke Malone says there will only be one.
More than 15 hundred athletes will be arriving, with an additional six thousand family members and supporters expected.
Drivers are reminded to always watch for runners during the race.
