Haliburton County could be home to major music festivals next year. Earthproductions is a company that specializes in putting on concerts and events. Local resident John Teljeur has been involved for about five years trying to get the team to come here, and now it’s close to happening.
Teljeur says the site would include temporary camping, along with an area for local vendors and artists. He also says it will be a huge benefit to the community.
The group also plans to give a portion of ticket sales to a community group.
Dysart councillors have some mixed feelings and are expressing their concerns about noise and the environment. Councillor Walt McKechnie says this community is always talking about economic growth, and doesn’t see how they can say no. Reeve Murray Fearrey says they will have a special council meeting in a few weeks to discuss the proposal.
